There are a number of ways to serve your community.
- Volunteer activities – serving under the yearly chairperson and the President
- There are a number of scheduled volunteer days throughout the year
- Trash pickup
- Mowing
- Common area maintenance
- Road maintenance
- Chair person of committees on a yearly basis – serving under the leadership of the Board of Directors
- Architecture Control Committee – chaired by Vice-President
- Addressing deed restriction violations
- Computer skills needed
- Availability on a weekly basis preferred

- Required Qualifications
- Of good moral character – see TPC Sec. 209.00591. Owners are disqualified or ineligible for a board position if convicted of a felony or crime involving moral turpitude.

- Be an actual property owner and not a representative or act as an attorney-in-fact on behalf of another owner.
- Be in good standing with the property owners association:
- Current in dues and fees prior to nomination date
- In full compliance with the DWLA deed restrictions
- Knowledgeable of the Texas Property Code, dedicatory instruments (restrictive covenants, bylaws), instruments, rules, and regulations of the property owners association.
- Have professional level computer skills.
- Have professional level communication skills: verbal and written
- Be available to hold office hours at the DWLA office.
- Be available to chair committees.
- Be available to attend regular committee meetings.
- Be available to attend regular board meetings.
- Previously served as a volunteer on a board appointed committee.

Please note that all service is voluntary with no compensation. The governing documents of DWLA strictly prohibit property owners/ Board of Directors receiving compensation or maintenance fee credits for service.
